  13. Product Description:   The Macintosh IIfx Logic Board Upgrade features a 40 MHz
  14. 68030 microprocessor and 68882 floating point unit, 32 kilobytes of Static RAM
  15. cache, two new dedicated input/output processors, a SCSI/DMA controller, one
  16. Processor Direct Slot (PDS), and six industry standard NuBus expansion slots.
  17. It is designed for use in Macintosh II and IIx systems.  A Macintosh IIfx
  18. accessory kit is also included with the logic board upgrade. This kit consists
  19. of System Software 6.0.5, HyperCard 1.2.5 software, and manuals.  The logic
  20. board upgrade does not include Macintosh IIfx DRAM.  This DRAM is available
  21. separately through Apple resellers and third parties.

  23. Significance:  The Macintosh IIfx Logic Board Upgrade allows thousands of
  24. existing Macintosh II and IIx customers to upgrade to the higher performance
  25. capabilities of the Macintosh IIfx.  The Macintosh IIfx Logic Board Upgrade
  26. increases the performance of Macintosh II and Macintosh IIx systems up to four
  27. times.
